Frequently Asked Questions

Why is pinging every single link important?

Google typically crawls less than 10% of the weak links we SEOs make because they are poorly linked and of poor quality. (It'll crawl a higher percentage of high quality pages and a lower percentage of poor links) So in this case most of your link building time and effort is wasted. When we ping (and track the pings to reping if necessary), Google will crawl your link. Once they are crawled, Google knows about your link and you get credit. If your links never get crawled, Google never knows about them so your time/effort/money is wasted!

How do the free backlinks from OneHourBacklinks.com work?

Paying subscribers to Linklicious get a OneHourBacklinks coupon emailed two weeks after their Linklicious account is billed. This coupon is valid for use on any single order and works for two weeks. The amount of the coupon is equal to the price of the Linklicious account. So FREE links!

What is the difference beween the free version and the paid version?

Free accounts don't get their links pinged individually. They get added to a "Link Pool" as we call it, and we let Google know about it. Google crawls that page, finds the links then they may or may not crawl them, which is why we only say there is a 20% crawl rate. We do not reping uncrawled links or make an effort to make sure all links are crawled. Paid/premium accounts will ping your links until they are all crawled, allow you to integrate with link builders to automatically load in links, integrate Linklicious with your custom apps with an API, and much more. You can see a comparison of the main features on our comparison chart.

I'm using a Free/Basic account. How long will my links last?

We have a process that runs and cleans out links that are 30 days old. Dont worry though, we do not delete links that haven't been crawled yet. If you are building links to your links and want them to stick around, you'll want to upgrade to the Pro package.

My links aren’t showing they are being crawled. What’s wrong?

Nothing! Sometimes Google comes in 5 minutes and other times it takes them 5 hours. Occasionally it may take them a few days to come crawl. The great news is we track this and ping Google daily until they come and find the links. So kick back and relax – we’re on it!

How does Linklicious work? What are the differences between the account types?

For a comprehensive overview of the service, check out our fancy-schmancy infographic.

Why do I need a service like this?

You spend a lot of time and money building links. Low value links (like forum profiles) tend to be overlooked, with Google finding less than 5% of them "naturally". That means you are wasting 95% of your time and money! This service packages your links together into tidy batches, launches them on a schedule you can define, then tells Google to “COME AND GET IT”! If you are going to the trouble of making links, use this service to make them count!

How does the scheduling work?

It is very dangerous to build a large amount of links to your site at once and if you do you run a big risk of hitting the Google Sandbox. To help maximize results and minimize the chance of getting dinged by Google, we allow you to specify exactly how fast Google learns about your links. You can set up links to drip out 10 links a day or 1000 -you have total flexibility.

Will this make all of my links be indexed by Google?

This system is not made for “getting indexed”. While there is value in being indexed, our goal is to make your links actually count. Google doesn’t find most low value links and we force them to find those links. More links will end up in the index, but that isn’t the primary goal of this service. Take a look at our Crawling vs Indexing newsletter. and Is Indexing Required to Rank in Google newsletter.

How do I integrate with link builders?

In your My Account section we provide the ability to pull data from selected link providers. All you need to do is enter the necessary information and we’ll do the rest. After the link is established, once a day we’ll pull your new links from those systems and ping them for you. It really is set-it-and-forget-it! If you are a link provider and want to integrate, just drop us a line.

What type of links is this service geared for?

This service will work on any and all links. If you want Google to find your links just add them in!

Why aren't my API links showing up?

First, if you have successfully added your API key then we know it is valid. We check that the API key is correct when the form is filled out. After your API profile is set up it can take up to 36 hours for the links to start showing up in your account. We run the process once a day and pull those links in from our API partners then. The links will only be for the previous day’s link building activities so anything built before will need to be added manually.

What good is having a custom domain?

Custom domains are used for two primary reasons. All URLs are rewritten with our shortening service lts.me, so all links route through that domain. If you don't want that footprint you can use your own custom domain. Additionally, the custom domain can be used for vanity purposes as all of your feeds will be your own domain. We've not seen any SEO benefit from custom domains. Also, be careful not to point your real domain to us. You'll want to use a throwaway domain/subdomain!

Do you have an API to push links in?

Yes, we have an API that allows you to push links into your account. You'll need at least a Basic level account for this functionality to be supported. Once links are submitted you'll need to log into your Linklicious account to see the links and their crawl information. You can download an example of the code here. Note that we do support this API for bug fixes, but we'll probably be unable to provide detailed support should you have general programming questions.
